Project
Amidst a sweltering heatwave, Constructlab Belgium gathered creative (and cool-headed) minds for a 5-day residency at @shift.gent . Together, we built the first prototypes for H.O.W.*—focusing on the essentials: a tea station, shelter, trailer construction, mast-raising, and recipes, all while documenting and researching along the way. This prototyping phase prepares us for our first public presentation at @kunstenzwalm , where we’ll activate a H.O.W. prototype, now reimagined as the H.O.T.**
H.O.W.*
Hospitality on Wheels (H.O.W.) is a new long-term Constructlab research project that translates our research on mobile hospitality into a tangible, deployable structure.
In 2025-2026 we work together with partners in specific contexts to test and expand the arsenal of the H.O.W. Interested in working together? Mail us at belgium@constructlab.net!
H.O.T.**
During Kunst & Zwalm, the mobile architecture Hospitality on Wheels will be stationed at the bends of the river. Drawing inspiration from the river Zwalm, referring to the misty dampness of a steaming river, H.O.T. becomes a moving, performative tea installation.
