Merril Sinéus is architect and urban planner, teaching currently at the Ecole Nationale Supérieure d’Architecture de Paris La Villette, a course linking urban thematics to participation and capacitation, bringing students and communities together in a collaborative process to design a better living environment. Through diverse programmes, Sinéus puts forward a kind of ‘architecture of rehabilitation’, often linked to the habitat in its broadest sense. Acting on pre-existing structures, on the domestic, quotidian level and in direct interaction with future users, her projects demand flexibility from the architect.
